Madre Midwifery

I am Kalila, a midwife supporting birthing families in Northern Arizona. I was born under the vast sky of New Mexico, and raised by her painted mesas, piñon covered hills, and beloved willow lined streams. Italian was my first language, English my second, and Spanish is the language of my heart! Since I was a young girl, I have loved making potions and remedies, and have had a deep love of the magical, mystical, and sacred. These interests guided me to women’s health and healing when at 21 years old, I had the profound and life altering experience of naturally healing severe cervical dysplasia. This journey led me through a yoga teacher training, and inspired me to become a Rebirthing Breathwork practitioner and community folk herbalist. During my healing, I studied Chi Nei Tsang–an ancient form of abdominal massage used by the Daoist White Cloud monk lineage of China–with Khun Ni, a master healer in Thailand. I have been practicing Chi Nei Tsang for the last 5 years. At 24 years old, I understood that Midwifery would be the best way to honor all of my interests and my desire to work with women. I began my midwifery studies in Prescott with a number of talented and experienced midwives who taught me the art of natural homebirth. I continued my training in El Paso, at the busy birth center Maternidad La Luz, where I had the honor of working with families from Juarez.

In 2025, after 3 years of dedicated apprenticeship, I received my CPM and LM. I am now taking clients for 2025!

I am deeply honored to offer my services to Prescott, the Tri-Cities, the Verde Valley, and Sedona.
